AMMAN — Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed Joseph’s Tomb in the eastern part of Nablus early Thursday and performed Jewish rituals at the site under heavy protection from Israeli forces. Israeli military vehicles raided the eastern part of the city, forcing residents of homes surrounding the site to evacuate and turning the houses into military posts. ISLAMABAD — Pakistan has launched fresh airstrikes in Afghanistan, targeting the alleged hideouts of militants blamed for deadly cross-border attacks, officials said on Thursday. At least two hideouts were targeted in the provinces of Helmand and Kunar in early morning airstrikes, Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said. At least 22 militants were killed and their arms and ammunition were destroyed, Tarar said in a statement.
