Meta Platforms has recently reached a settlement worth up to $18 billion with 29 U.S. states over child safety on Facebook and Instagram. As part of the agreement, the company will implement new restrictions on how children use its platforms. The proposed settlement which requires court approval would see the company pay around $12.7 billion to the coalition of states in annual instalments over a 10-year period. The remaining amount will only be released if rival platforms YouTube and TikTok agree to similar restrictions on how children use those platforms. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance signed an executive program in Dushanbe today with Tajikistan’s Committee on Religious Affairs, Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies.
